As I frustratingly tried to reach bus service (each call took 36 buttons) back to Newport, Chris and Emma arrived. Chris's wife, Cindy, very kindly offered to drive me directly to North Troy and my truck! It was my 21st and final day on the Long Trail in 2004. By 8:30 PM I was back "home" in our Adirondack cabin.
