W3MI's transmitter used a pair of 8005 triodes, in that top section; it is hinged at the bottom to permit plugging in different coils. It was only for 20 and 10 meters, and really shined on AM; it wasn't so great on CW. It used a WW2 Army surplus BC-459 as a VFO. It put out 200 watts of beautiful AM audio, and could run 300 watts on CW.
